When Big Bar was built a decade ago, we were thrilled to have built the bar, bottle gantry, and other custom elements for the space. Big Bar is Louisville’s smallest bar and later, a premiere gay bar and dance club for the city after more than a decade of business. They eventually purchased the building next door and joined the two spaces to create a vibrant dance space, second bar, and intimate mezzanine lounge, which we were proud to help bring to life.
For this expansion, we created a range of tailored features, including custom metal railings, a LED wall design with installation and programming, and a bespoke bar and bottle gantry integrated with embedded LEDs. We also incorporated underbar lighting, textiles, upholstery, and draping, along with a custom banquette. Our lighting design solution included installation and DMX programming. Additionally, we designed and implemented a 16-channel multi-source video content distribution network, as well as an upgraded audio solution that can be customized across different zones (dancefloor, original bar, and/or patio). Finally, we fabricated and installed a custom lighting grid above the dance floor.
