Probably the “most fun channeling our inner child ever” project was this dual-themed interactive …exhibit. Playroom? …hmmm, oh yes, a child psychologist’s waiting room and a therapy room.
We were commissioned to create a complex 360º environment for a private child psychologist’s offices. Each space is designed to be interactive and immersive, fun and engaging, providing a safe and familiar space for kids while disarming them and preparing them to open up to the therapist.
About The Project
The Under the Sea waiting room has several interactive components like a pirate ship’s wheel, a spinning circular pod of dolphins, toys, boxes and grottos.
Kids enter the Space Room through an interactive bulkhead hallway that features a pneumatically controlled bench that swings out at the push of a button and a one-way mirror that allows nervous parents or social works to observe the child patients. As they enter into the immersive therapy room filled with interactive consoles and gadgets, a chalkboard “screen” acts as a communication and drawing space for the kids and the NASA rocket ship helps them to relax as they engage with the therapist.
